RELIGIOUS EXCURSIONS: MANY PLACES OF INTEREST IN THE GARGANO
Puglia is a place of century old, deep-rooted faith and an ancient place of pilgrimage. There are many holy places of interested here in the Gargano which has been the destination for religious excursions since medieval times: Monte Sant’Angelo where the underground sanctuary is dedicated to St Michael the Archangel, and San Giovanni Rotondo, where you can visit the sanctuary of Padre Pio as well as the newly built cathedral by Renzo Piano which unites art and religion, faith and modern times.
